“Essential Catholic Teachings” Lecture Series

As part of the Archdiocese of Chicago’s “Catholics Come Home” initiative, a new series is being offered to provide an overview of the basic concepts of Catholicism.  Whether you are a practicing Catholic seeking a refresher course, a potential convert, or just someone who is interested in learning more about the essential beliefs of our faith, this 10-week program has been designed to explain the teachings that serve as the foundation for the Catholic Church.  The topics will include the Holy Trinity, the Ten Commandments, the Nine Pauline Criteria, the Eight Beatitudes, the Seven Sacraments, and an explanation of how Catholic beliefs differ from the teachings of other Christian faiths.

The series will be conducted on Thursdays beginning January 28, 2010.  All of the lectures will start at 12:10 p.m. in the St. Clare Auditorium of St. Peter’s in the Loop Church, 110 W. Madison Street in Chicago.  The program is free, and everyone is invited to attend.  You may participate in one or all of the sessions.  If you would like more information, please telephone Carolyn Jarosz at (312) 853-2376.
