“Fall Therapy Group for Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse”
The Archdiocese of Chicago’s Office of Assistance Ministry will be offering its fall session of therapy groups for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Each group will meet for 12 consecutive weeks beginning on Wednesday, September 22. Sessions will be conducted from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at a downtown Chicago location.
All of the group therapy sessions will be conducted by licensed professionals who have experience in working with victims of sexual abuse. It does not matter who perpetrated the sexual abuse – family member, friend, stranger, or member of the clergy – as this program has been designed to help all of the victims. There is no fee for the program.
If you or a family member would like to register or require additional information about any of these therapy groups, please telephone Kathleen Leggdas at (312) 534-5268 or Matt Hunnicutt at (312) 534-8267 at the Archdiocese. Since its inception in 1992, the Archdiocese’s Office of Assistance Ministry has had a mission is to provide pastoral care, support, and resources for the victims-survivors of childhood sexual abuse in an effort to achieve psychological, emotional, and spiritual healing. Remember, you don’t have to go through this pain by yourself. If you or someone you know would benefit from this type of therapy group, please consider attending to start the healing process.
