It’s exciting to see so many young adults joining the Holy Rosary Parish community. Fr. Mike has started a Young Adults Group for all of these men and women to get involved and learn more about the faith. In addition to enjoying fellowship with other like-minded young adult Catholics, participants will pray, discuss, and learn through faith formation on a variety of topics pertinent to living as Catholics in today’s world. Are you interested? Come see what it’s about! Please contact Reyna, Monica, or Fr. Mike for more information.
Bible Study Group at Holy Rosary
Sr. Trina will conduct a Bible Study group to discuss the Sunday readings along with reflections from the Chicago Theological Union. The group will meet on Sunday mornings. Everyone is encouraged to participate and deepen their knowledge of the faith. Whether you read the Bible every day or are just beginning to study Scripture, you are welcome to join this group. If you wish to receive the reflections by email, there is a sign-up sheet at the back of the Church.
Holy Rosary Church ‘Adopts’ Another Seminarian
The Archdiocese of Chicago’s Vocations Office has asked that each of the archdiocesan seminarians be “adopted” by an individual parish as a way of promoting vocations. We are pleased to announce Holy Rosary Church has been asked to “adopt” Jason Alarcon as our seminarian. Jason is studying at St. Joseph College of Loyola University. A photograph of him is on display in our Church.
In 2014, we ‘adopted’ Vinicio Jimenez as our seminarian. Vinicio is studying at St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein, Illinois. He will be ordained a priest in 2018. A photograph of Vinicio is also on display in our Church. Please keep both of these young men in your prayers, and continue to pray for others who are considering the priesthood.
Adult Religious Education
The Adult Religious Education Program (RCIA) is available for men and women who wish to become Catholic or make their sacraments. If you are interested, please contact the Rectory.
Religious Education Program
If you would like to teach in our Religious Education Program, please call the Rectory and leave a message for Clair. She will get back to you with additional information.
Faith Formation Bulletin Board
We are pleased to announce we have a new Faith Formation Bulletin Board at the back of the Church under the choir loft. Why not take a few minutes and peruse the resources listed there? You will find invitations to Bible study as well as other ways to expand and strengthen your faith.
Parish Masses for 2019
The Holy Rosary Parish Mass book for 2019 is open. If you wish to have a Mass offered in memory of a loved one or for a special intention, please telephone Pat at the Rectory. Remember, the Mass book fills up quickly so be sure to notify Pat as soon as possible if you are seeking a particular date.
Eucharistic Adoration
Eucharistic Adoration will be offered on the First Friday of each month from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Friendship Room. After 9:00 a.m., you may access the Friendship Room by using the gate on the north side of the building. Go to the back and knock on the door (someone will let you in). We hope everyone will make an effort to attend and get closer with Our Lord. Even a short amount of time spent at Eucharistic Adoration can really make a difference in your life. The next Eucharistic Adoration will be on Friday, March 1, 2019.
Prayers for the Sick
Did you know prayers for the sick may also be submitted directly to the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes via the computer? You may send your prayer request to intentions@lourdes-france.com to be included in their daily prayer services and Masses.
Choir Volunteers
Our music ministry is extremely important. We are looking for volunteers who would like to sing in our choir. Why not give it a try? If you would like to join, please speak with Alberta R. Catalano after Mass for more details. We thank you in advance for your support of our choir!
