The Catholic War Veterans of the United States (CWV) is the only Catholic-based organization whose members are all military veterans dedicated to helping other military veterans in times of need. Former Army chaplain Fr. Edward Higgins organized the CWV in 1935. President Ronald Reagan signed legislation in 1984 making the CWV the ONLY Catholic organization with a Congressional Charter.
CWV Post 500 (which works out of Five Holy Martyrs Church in Chicago) is actively recruiting new members. Veterans from all branches of all previous wars are welcome. Meetings are quarterly. In addition to helping veterans in need, the group also provides a strong social bond while participating in activities promoting liberty and the U.S. Constitution. If you or someone you know is Catholic and a veteran, consider joining the group. For more information, please telephone Larry Kulik at (773) 927-9747 or write to him at lckulik@msn.com
