Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church hosts an ongoing monthly support group for recently divorced or currently divorcing men and women who find themselves in need of help and encouragement. Divorce is such a traumatic time of confusion and emotional turmoil for all members of the family. The home may have felt like a battlefield for so long that it becomes difficult to remember what peace and happiness feel like; family members often end up just going through the motions of daily life instead of embracing each day with joy. The goal of this Divorce Support Group is to provide participants with the hope and support they need to proceed with the healing process. Licensed professional counselors lead the meetings.
For 2018, meetings will be held on the first Friday evening of each month. There are presently no meetings scheduled during July and August. All meetings will be held in the Flavin Room on the lower level of the Rectory of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 1775 Grove Street in Glenview (one block north of Glenview Road, one block west of Waukegan Road). Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m., and run until about 8:15 p.m. This is a donation-based group. Participants are asked to pay what they can afford (usually about $5). No one will be turned away due to inability to pay. If you would like to register or require additional information, please contact Licensed Clinical Social Worker Val Spingola at (847) 826-3566.
