Many grieving people find they are only beginning the work of healing when their friends and family members have returned to their daily life routines. Too often they are then left alone, fearful and unsure how to deal with their loss. Some try to hide their grief while others try to bury it so deep within themselves that they can not deal with it. Still others get stuck at a certain point in the bereavement process and have no idea how to move on. Don't allow fear to keep you trapped in the grieving process. Whether your loss was recent or years ago, there are ways to help you deal with your pain and move forward in a healthy way with a renewed hope for the future.
The Grief Share program is a series featuring biblical, Christ-centered teachings that focus on various grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. DVDs will be shown presenting nationally known grief experts as well as the real life experiences of people who have been through the grieving process. There will also be small group discussions and prayer. You will find encouragement, comfort, and support from people who truly understand what you are experiencing with the death of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, other family member, or friend. Confidentiality is a core element of this program.
Past participants have said the information, suggestions, and discussions were helpful to them in dealing with all of the components of grief. Why not give it a try and see what the program can do to help you as well?
The Fall, 2019, Grief Share program will run from September 6 through December 6. Grief Share will meet on Fridays from 9:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Each session will be in the Kinane Center of St. Paul of the Cross Church, 320 Washington Street in Park Ridge (the cross street is Northwest Highway). You can enter the Kinane Center from the Ridge Terrace side. There is a fee of $25 per person (scholarships are available). If you would like to register or require additional information, please contact Adrienne Timm at St. Paul of the Cross at (847) 692-6767. Although grief can be one of the most debilitating experiences we encounter, help is available so we don't have to go through it alone.
