Are you a retired person – aged 50 and above – who would like to volunteer within the community? Would you be able to donate two days a week from September to June to help make the world a better place? If so, then the IGNATIAN VOLUNTEER CORPS may be the group you are seeking. Both men and women volunteers are needed to help this worthwhile organization.
The Ignatian Volunteer Corps is a wonderful ministry opportunity for people to share their talents and vast experiences with organizations that directly assist the poor. Volunteers can work in a variety of positions depending upon the needs within a particular community. For example, some volunteers help out in soup kitchens or work with literacy programs while others focus on housing concerns or immigration issues. Some serve as employment counselors or companions to the elderly. No matter what form of volunteering is done, however, all participants will enjoy the personal satisfaction of knowing they are helping to fulfill the Lord’s work.
