The Holy Name Province of the Franciscans in New York has started a new service, “Text a Prayer Intention to a Franciscan Friar.” All you have to do is text the word “prayer” to 306-44 and push the “send” button. You will then receive a “welcome” message inviting you to send in your prayer intentions. Once you text your prayer intention, you will receive a text in response notifying you that your prayer request has been received and will be prayed for by the Franciscans. The intentions are received on a website, and will be included collectively in the friars’ prayers twice a day and at Mass.
